The Quogue Library is seeking a part-time Technology Assistant, to support the daily operation of the library’s technology resources and assist patrons with a variety of computer, device, and printing needs. This position plays an important role in helping users navigate technology confidently while ensuring equipment and programs run smoothly during public and staff events.
Duties include, but not limited to:

Understand and operate basic sound systems, microphones, and speakers for programs and meetings.

Set up and help facilitate technology-based programs, workshops, and events.

Provide assistance to patrons with computers, iPads, and other devices.
-
Help troubleshoot and resolve basic technology issues, including software, printers, and internet connectivity.

Maintain and monitor public technology equipment and supplies.
-
Support staff with technology-related needs as directed.
-
Communicate clearly and provide friendly, patient assistance to patrons of all ages and skill levels.

Complete project setups, event coordination, with the ability to act quickly.

knowledge of audio speakers, AV sound equipment, laptops, and microphones.

Knowledge of Zoom and other media software.
-
Printing, and changing the flyers in the tech room monthly
-
Update flyers at the front desk weekly
-
Assist with programs, presentations, technology support.

Knowledge of Library Market software and how to sign patrons up for programs

Wiping down desks and seats, including inside the quiet rooms
-
Basic knowledge on Cricut machine a plus

Qualifications:
-
Strong understanding of computers, tablets (especially iPads), common software applications and AV Equipment.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or experience preferred.

Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 lbs.
-
Comfortable standing or walking for extended periods during programs and setup.

Compensation: Starting at $18.00 an hour/14 hours a week. Compensation based on library experience. Earned vacation, personal and sick time, employer contributed 403(b) Vanguard Retirement Plan plus a longevity bonus. Some weekend work required.
