HOW TO GROW SEEDS:

Each seed packet will include instructions for growing seeds. If any more gardening assistance is needed, please see the growing guides and resources below.

General Gardening Tips:

Soil:

  • add compost or manure to the soil

  • Mix in a balanced, organic compost when first planting

Planting:

  • Note the depth and inches apart crops need when sowing seeds

Watering:

  • Water plants moderately, about 1 inch per week

  • Water early in the day to minimize disease problems

Harvesting

  • Gather greens and roots throughout summer as needed

  • Roots are best eaten at 3-4 inches but remain in good condition until quite large

Weeding

  • Keep weeds under control by cultivating often or use a mulch to prevent their seeds from germinating
