A Warm Welcome awaits all patrons as they enter the gracious Lobby with centralized Circulation Desk and adjoining Business Center (copier, fax, scanner).

The original 1897 Library, now restored to a quiet reading and study room, beckons patrons to step back in time. Imagine reading the paper, a new magazine or your book group selection on a cold winter day in front of the Working Fireplace!

The nearby adult Collections and Browsing Room features ergonomic shelving, bright lighting, comfortable seats for leafing through books, and a nearby coffee bar with casual seating.

Patrons can reserve an exceptionally attractive Conference Room for classes, meetings or study.

Young children will enjoy a Children’s Room twice as large as before with an adjoining Activity Room, Children’s Porch, and nearby Children’s Garden and Children’s Glen.

The Young Adult Room for Middle and High School students will be hip, busy and filled with resources for study and recreation.

The Innovation Lab is designed to be a collaborative STEM/STEAM space with white boards and a promethean screen, both group and individual work benches, computer stations, and a full array of equipment and materials to experiment with and learn from. A 3-D printer that patrons can learn to code and then “print” their objects is a featured piece of equipment.

The Lab will also have two soundproof Quiet Rooms equipped with computers and recording equipment. This Lab is Inter-Generational: adults and children--the entire community-- can learn, experience and create individually and with a group here.

Events in the Shinnecock Room will benefit from expanded seating and a new Outdoor Terrace to host the variety of programs which the library offers. A service kitchen will enable the library to host receptions both inside and in the summer tent.

A re-located Art Gallery will be flooded with natural light and centrally located for all ages to view exhibits.

Outdoor spaces to look forward to include the historic Millstone Walkway, the re-situated School House and Gardens, a spectacular Bluestone Terrace for the permanent tent site, and so much more.
