The Quogue Library provides a welcoming environment that encourages the pursuit of knowledge, fosters intellectual curiosity and promotes lifelong learning through traditional and innovative services, resources and programs.
The Quogue Library was chartered by the State of New York in 1897.
Governed by the Library Board of Trustees and managed by the Library staff, the Library aims to meet the educational, informational, cultural and recreational needs of the residents of the Quogue School District and residents of East Quogue who select the Quogue Library as their home library.
The Library strives to offer welcoming, supportive and inclusive service to all. The staff cares for Quogue’s public library collection and access to borrowable materials and downloadable resources, all of which is funded through tax-payer support.

Quogue Library Staff is a caring team of library professionals working together to ensure that our Library is a safe and welcoming community hub of activity. Quogue Library staff members actively support our community by creating access to information and resources in hopes of sparking curiosity and encouraging life-long learning. Employment opportunities will be updated here once they become available.
We hope you will consider volunteering at the Quogue Library. We believe strongly in helping people gain work experience and job skills. We are happy to have Community Service volunteers and students, and will work to ensure the experience is mutually valuable.
In order to provide good volunteer management, we may limit the number of volunteers at a time. Please complete our contact form to let us know what type of experience you are seeking.
All volunteers will be required to pass a background check and must support our privacy policies and protocols.
The Suffolk Cooperative Library System (SCLS) provides access to services that, individually, libraries would find difficult to provide or maintain such as development of our catalog system (Live-brary) or our interlibrary loan system. SCLS creates group-purchasing opportunities for databases and supports Quogue’s staff by organizing peer groups.
SCLS’s mission statement is ” Founded in 1961, the Suffolk Cooperative Library System exists to help local public libraries provide the best in traditional and innovative public library service to all the people of Suffolk County.”
SCLS is our partner to deliver a bigger world of library service to our patrons.
